The Blog
Hi this is the Josiahland. It’s really intended more as an emotional outlet for me than as a product fit for public consumption.
I tend to scribble poems from time to time, and I try to post the ones that are moderately finished and aren’t too personal. Sometimes, I write about interesting stuff I found on the Internet. Other times, I post about ideas and philosophies I think are interesting. So far, I haven’t actually written much about my daily personal life — but that might change in the upcoming year.
Me
Philosophically, I’m pursuing a Biblically-centered lifestyle through my relationship with God and other people. Academically, I’m headed full-speed toward an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Iowa. If all goes as planned, I should graduate this Spring. My research interests are renewable energy — specifically, grid integration of intermittent distributed generation. Occupationally, I’m moving in the direction of some kind of teaching — most likely, in higher academics. I’m an academic mentor for the Multi-Ethnic engineering and Science Association, a teaching assistant for two engineering courses at the University of Iowa, and a counselor for Awana Clubs, International at Parkview Church.
