Endeared out of $36.65

As many of you may know, I’ve been working on a way to take over the world for some time now. However, in light of the fact that neither the legalization of jaywalking nor the banning of Laffy Taffy has occurred, it is safe to say that I have not yet succeeded in my goal.

I was pacing back and forth across the Internet — looking for a good price on some resistors, LEDs, and thermonuclear weapons, when I had my first encounter with the prestigious American Science & Surplus company.  Upon perusing the website, I noticed located several requisite devices for my lair, and was consequently impressed by the owners’ perspicacity in advertisement.  My admiration only grew as I did a bit of research:

The institution was founded by a 1930s optokleptopoliac (a person who steals eyeglass lenses and sells them for a profit) — who, later became a weapons dealer.  It is now owned by an untrained scientist with a degree in literature.  While he is currently neither insane nor evil, I believe him to possess the imagination (and money) to one day become one of my minions.

Suffice it to say, I have absolutely fallen for the quirky, mildly technical, completely fun, and non-pricey nature of the site and company.  In just a few days, I will have recieved 300 resistors, a breadboard, 12 LEDs, 10 alligator clips, and 5 liquid crystal displays — for under $15 (not including shipping).  Such a steal’s not a bad start to world conquest, I think!

You know you’re bored when…

  1. You check your e-mail twice every minute — even though the auto-check feature is on.
  2. You click on two different programs and have a race to see which one starts up first.
  3. You get excited about a three-month-old link to your blog on some random site.
  4. You make a tiny blog article about how bored you are.
  5. You take 30 minutes to make said article.
